Ecosphere - Small
Invented by NASA Scientists, The Ecosphere is the Worlds first totally enclosed Ecosystem - a complete, self contained and self sustaining miniature world encased in glass. It is simply incredible. Each EcoSphere is a completely sealed ecosystem. It contains active micro-organisms - thats red shrimp and algae to you and me - in a clear ‘soup’ of filtered sea-water. Simply provide the EcoSphere with indirect natural or artificial light and the ecosystem will thrive without needing further attention. EcoSpheres have a life expectancy of two to three years but it is not uncommon for a system to last much longer – some have continued for over 10 years.The Small Ecosphere comes in either a round or oval design. The Small Round is the most popular EcoSphere containing 3 shrimp and a hand cut piece of Gorgonia, whilst the Oval is identical in content to the small round with 3 shrimp, but a taller, leaner shape – it’s just a matter of personal preference which shape is more attractive. NASA scientists were researching self-contained communities for space explorers to live in during long-term space flights. And out of this work came the EcoSphere – an ecosystem of animal and plant life in perfect balance with nature. What is an EcoSphere?An EcoSphere is a working ecological system and its biological cycle represents a simple version of Earth’s own ecosystem. While beautiful to look at, it demonstrates the delicate balance of a closed system like the Earth and contains some of the same essential elements that are found on our planet. The Earth is represented by the gravel at the bottom, with water filling approximately two-thirds of the system and air filling the balance of the space. Fire is represented by the light. And finally to complete the system, life – the shrimp, the algae and the bacteria.Who developed EcoSpheres?Originally discovered by two scientists, the EcoSphere is the result of technology developed at NASA’s research laboratories. Microlight Flight 60 Mins (UK Wide)

Then relax for a pampering makeover from professionals including a hand beauty treatment, skin refresh, makeup and hairstyling. Feeling like a million dollars, enter the studio for your shoot with a top photographer before selecting a complimentary 12 x 8 print (worth £70) to keep.Itinerary:On arrival you will be served your Bucks Fizz and will discuss your new look with the stylist. Your hair will be washed and conditioned and you will receive a relaxing head massage before your cut or colour (12 foils) with a Burlingtons stylist. Take your seat in the studio where professional make-up artists will complete your incredible look. You then get to meet your fashion photographer and discuss the look you want in the shots before they produce sensational images for you to choose. Location:London (South East), Birmingham (Midlands), Cardiff (Wales), Manchester (North), Newcastle from Spring 08 (North).Key information:On purchasing this experience you will be issued with a voucher valid for ten months. This experience is suitable for anyone of any age, but under 18s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. The experience will last around five hours in total and is available seven days a week. You will need to book several weeks in advance, but sometimes last minute places are available. All dates and times are subject to availability. To maximise your time with your professional photographer, you are recommended to bring four changes of clothes. You have the option to purchase additional prints after your shoot but are under no obligation. These normally cost £50 for a 7 x 5 and £70 for a 12 x 8 but our customers receive a 20% discount. There is disabled access to the studio. Please note that on booking you will be asked to pay a £25 deposit, which is fully refunded within seven to ten working days, to limit non-attendance.
